Bio

Michèle Forbes is an actor and writer. Her film work includes OMAGH (Best Actress Monte Carlo, Best Actress IFTA nomination), PRIDE AND JOY, DOROTHY MILLS, THE PLAYBOYS.  Her television work includes the Netflix series BODKIN to be released 2023, JACK TAYLOR, the BBC productions BEST: HIS MOTHER’S SON, HOLBY CITY,LOVING MISS HATTO, JOURNEY TO KNOCK, TITANIC: BLOOD & STEEL and for RTE LOVE/HATE, WHISTLEBLOWER, THE CLINIC. Theatre work includes Beckett’s FOOTFALLS and COME & GO, DANCING AT LUGHNASA, TALK OF THE TOWN, THE GREAT HUNGER, NO ESCAPE, PHAEDRA .

Michèle has written for stage and radio.  Her debut novel GHOST MOTH (for which she recorded the audiobook) was shortlisted for BEST NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR IRISH BOOK AWARDS, nominated for FIRST BOOK AWARD EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL BOOK FESTIVAL, for the FIRST EUROPEAN NOVEL AWARD CHAMBERY’S FESTIVAL DU PREMIER ROMAN, selected as one of THE FIVE BEST DEBUT NOVELS OF THE YEAR at The Brooklyn Book Festival and has been translated into French.  Her second novel EDITH & OLIVER was selected as one of the Sunday Times Books of the Year.
